Ms. Zaklan has more than 20 years experience in professional communications, environmental research and writing, editing and consulting in a variety of industries, including high-tech, environmental, public relations and journalism. As an environmental and technical researcher, Ms. Zaklan spent numerous years researching background and technical detail supporting sound decisions and theory. She led numerous permit application developments pulling together the facts, detail, and regulatory requirements. For example, Hazardous Waste TSDF Part B applications for large complex mixed radioactive hazardous waste sites. As a newspaper reporter, Ms. Zaklan worked for some of the largest metropolitan daily newspapers in the country, including The Detroit News, The Dallas Morning News – Washington, D.C. Bureau and the Los Angeles Daily News. She worked as a business reporter for numerous years and covered politics and the environment. She was managing editor for a regional business magazine, Buildernews, and has been a regular contributor to national business magazines.
For industry and public relations, she assisted companies from start-up to large worldwide corporations in communication, environmental research and writing, management concepts, public relations and marketing writing and research. Companies she has worked for include Visio, Nike, Fujitsu Computers of America and WRQ Inc.
