Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach, CA Develop a Sustainability Education and Awareness Tool For the Naval Weapons Station at Seal Beach

ZMAssociates developed a Sustainability Education and Awareness tool and model. The facility used the model to create awareness, onsite and within the community, of the everyday choices we make and how they can impact our environment, our societal connections, and our health. The model was termed the “True Cost of Lunch”. A user can choose from a series of simple menu items from sample lunches. A graphic output display provides feedback on the user’s choices as they are made. Climate, waste generation, social behavior, and caloric and fat impacts are displayed to provide the user with a general sense of their choices. Impacts from the most common lunches are provided for reference.
